Meet Bob Yant - Cure Medical

Meet Bob Yant

As a user myself, I know what it is like to depend on products like these.

In 1981 I hit my head on a sandbar and broke my neck, receiving a C-5 injury. I was dependent on others to help me. From the outset of my injury, I wanted to know: ‘How am I going to get out of this?!’

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life, it’s that persistence is 90% of success.

I was the first person with spinal cord injury to start a retail company in this industry, and I’m the first person with SCI/D to start a manufacturing company of these products.  I devote much of my time to raising money for spinal cord injury research.  Now, there’s another way you can help make a contribution to help fund cure research.

The only true relief from SCI is through the development of a cure.

For 29 years, I was a member of the national board of directors of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation (and its predecessor the American Paralysis Association).  Since the time of my injury, I’ve helped raise $15 million for spinal cord research.

I realized I had to do this because spinal cord injury does not receive its fair share of research dollars from the government, and support for SCI research from private individuals is also lacking.

The average age of a person becoming spinal cord injured is 19. These young injury victims generally have no career or any savings to enable them to support spinal cord injury research.

You did not have a choice regarding your injury, but you have a choice over treatment and finding a cure.

This is where Cure Medical will make a difference.  People with SCI can choose the brand of urological product.  By simply choosing to use Cure Medical products, people with SCI can purchase from Cure Medical, who makes the “Cure Commitment.” We support SCI-D research. The use of Cure Medical products can result in new dollars devoted toward research that will develop a cure.

In the many years that I’ve been raising money for research, I’ve been face to face with leaders in the scientific research community.

There are many devoted scientists with promising ideas, but without funding they can’t move forward.

It’s Up To Us

There’s been a decline in both dollars and percentage of dollars allotted to the National Institute of Health, the U.S. government’s center for medical research. Now, it’s up to us to make up the difference and to put the pressure on to hasten the development of a cure for SCI/D.

Please join Cure Medical in our commitment to find a cure for SCI/D by funding medical research. And, thank you for Choosing a Cure!

Sincerely,
